Bruce Altznauer was elected to serve as Mayor in November 2017. He began his term January 1, 2018. Mayor Altznauer previously served as a City Council member for Post #3.

Mayor Altznauer has lived in Rutledge for 14 years with Carol, his wife of 40 years, and their Golden Retriever Misty. He is the father of three: sons Trey and Paul, and daughter Amanda. He is the proud grandfather of six: Josephine, Genevieve, Smith, Shae, Savannah and Miller.

Mayor Altznauer recently retired from Heatcraft Refrigeration, a division of Lennox International, as Senior Applications Engineer. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board for Rutledge United Methodist Church.

His goals include improving the city's infrastructure, particularly water and sewer; creating effective working relationships with other Morgan County cities and with the county; planning for smart growth; and providing quality government services for the citizens of Rutledge.

Morgan County and Rutledge are great places to live and work, which is why Adam Beckstine chose to call it home. With roots in Eatonton, Georgia, Adam came to live in Rutledge with his wife and 3 children 7 years ago.

Adam has built a solid foundation of community through his professionalism, attention to detail, and commitment to always put the citizens’ needs first.

Adam is passionate about helping families in the community and doing what is best to serve the city of Rutledge

Mr. Sells began his first term as City Council Post 2 in January 2016. He and his wife of 48 years have 3 children. He and his family have lived in Rutledge for almost 13 years. Mr. Sells served in the US Navy for 4 years as a Hospital Corpsman and Laboratory Technician and served in Vietnam aboard the hospital ship, USS Sanctuary. He has a BS in Biology and also has a degree in Medical Technology. After his service in the Navy, he was employed as the Laboratory Manager at several hospitals and laboratories in Macon. He was also employed as the Laboratory Manager at Morgan Memorial Hospital for 10 years before his retirement. His interests include coaching softball and kick ball for Special Needs individuals, and traveling.

His goals are "listening to, and assisting citizens of Rutledge and helping to promote controlled growth"

Mrs. Owens was elected to City Council Post 3 in November 2017. She is a 33 year resident of Rutledge, and she and her amily are deeply committed to the community they call home.

She says "I have worked for and helped establish several small family businesses right here in town, and my husband has been a long time volunteer on the Rutledge Fire Department.

I have been a teacher in local school systems for almost ten years and the skills I have acquired to become an effective teacher will help me effectively serve my community. I will problem solve, listen and respond to all members of the community, and think positively and proactively as we move forward.

I will do my best to serve our community with our citizen's best interest in mind. My roots are in Rutledge, and my goal is to work with the mayor and other council members to carry out the mission and vision of Rutledge, Georgia and celebrate all the special things our town has to offer."

Mrs. Thompson was elected to City Council Post 4 in August 2004. She serves as Mayor Pro Tempore, and also represents Rutledge in the Bioterrorism Committee of the Morgan County Health Department. Her goals are "to work together with the Mayor and other Council members and serving the citizens of Rutledge to the best of our ability. We want to work on improvements of sidewalks/streets, getting our lift stations in great working condition and to prepare for the growth of our town and surrounding areas while maintaining our "Small but Special" atmosphere."
