CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Knight called to order the regular meeting of the Rutledge City Council on the above date. Council members Brenda Thompson, Tim Smith, Bruce Altznauer and Tony sells were present as were members of the public.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIENCE

Mayor Knight called for and led the pledge of allegiance.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Tony Sells made motion to approve the minutes of the March 15, 2016 meeting as submitted. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

ALCOHOL LICENSE APPROVAL / BUSINESS LICENSE APPROVAL

Mayor Knight advised the council that there was an alcohol license and business license submitted by Karim H. Ali for Sean Marketing LLC located at 148 Atlanta Highway. Bruce Altznauer wanted to know where this was. Mayor Knight stated that it was the Rutledge Crossing convenience store at the corner of Newborn Road and Hwy 278. Bruce Altznauer made motion to approve the alcohol license for Sean Marketing LLC. Tony Sells seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried. Brenda Thompson made motion to approve the business license for Sean Marketing LLC. Tony Sells seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

SEWER LINE EXPENDITURE

Mayor Knight informed the council that roots had stopped up the sewer line on the corner of Newborn Road and Hwy 278 behind the carwash and Versatile mold. C.M. Rogers & Sons, Inc. came and removed the roots from the sewer line and manhole. He stated that they will be coming back and cleaning out more of the sewer lines.

OLD / UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Mayor Knight reminded everyone that the garbage contract with Republic service ends April 30th and the last pickup will be the last Wednesday of the month. The new service will start on May 1st with Advanced Disposal.

 

Mrs. Pace was present and asked about the status of the flashing sign that was going to be temporarily placed on Hawkins Avenue. Nobody realizes what we go thru with the speeding. Mayor Knight told her that he will get with Sheriff Markley. He also advised that the tree on Hawkins that has grown over the roadway is on the schedule to be taken down. He also apologized that the sign had not yet been taken care of.

Brenda Thompson made motion to adjourn at 7:15. Tony Sells seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
