Purpose

The purpose of this web site is to provide online access to the functions and publications of the government of the City of Rutledge, Georgia. The goals of this site are to promote open government, empower citizens to access City Government information at any time, and improve communications between City Government and the citizens of Rutledge.

Contents of this Site

  • Ordinances (draft and final)
  • Financial statements
  • Reports
  • Letters or other correspondence
  • Charts and diagrams
  • etc.

In addition to official documents, this site may include documents produced by other government agencies (for instance, by the State of Georgia), to provide additional information and to assist citizens in understanding some aspect of City Government.

Finally, this site may also include unofficial documents (for example, excerpts from news stories or periodicals, letters from citizens, etc.,) if they are deemed to assist citizens in understanding some aspect of City Government.

Note: Regardless of any labeling (e.g., "official", "draft", "final", etc.), all information contained in this web site is presented for reference purposes only. In particular, the contents of this web site have no legal standing. Please consult the official copy of the appropriate publication, ordinance, or document before taking any action. Official documents of the City of Rutledge are maintained at City Hall.

Tools You May Need

Most documentation described above is not produced in a format that can be displayed directly on the Web. For instance, meeting minutes are usually produced by a word processing program such as Microsoft Word. Since you might not own copies of the software programs used to produce some documents, we have provided links to download "viewer" programs you can use to view these documents.
