CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Spencer Knight called to order the regular meeting of the Rutledge City Council on the above date. Council members James Bratcher and Brenda Thompson were present as were members of the public. Council member Bill Spann was absent; Chad Cook entered the meeting after it was called to order.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Brenda Thompson made motion to approve the minutes of the October 21, 2013 meeting as submitted. James Bratcher seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
ELECTION RESULTS
Mayor Knight announced the results of the November 5, 2013 election as follows:
Mayor – James Bratcher
Council Post # 1 – Bruce Altznauer
Council Post # 3 – Timothy Smith
TAX EXEMPTION –JOELLEN ARTZ
Joellen Artz addressed the council to discuss the 2011 tax exemption resolution issue brought up while campaigning. She explained the steps that needed to be taken in order to get it to the local delegate to be put on their agenda. She advised that the mayor would need to call Doug Holt as soon as possible. Mayor Knight stated that we would have to get the attorney to draft a resolution for approval at the December meeting. It would then go to Doug Holt. He said it would be around $37.00 per household for senior citizens. He said it would reduce tax collections by $3515.00. Joellen Artz stated that the tax collections for the upcoming Dollar General should make up for that. Mayor Knight stated that the City had tightened its belt and kept taxes low. We have gone from tax collections of $93,000.00 to $55,000.00 and you need to decide is if you want to reduce it another $3500.00. Attorney John Nix advised that the exemption would not take effect until 2015.
James Bratcher made motion to have the city attorney draft a resolution to be voted on at the December meeting. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
