CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Knight called to order the regular meeting of the Rutledge City Council on the above date. Council members Brenda Thompson, Chad Cook, James Bratcher were present as were members of the public. Council member Bill Spann was absent.
ANNOUNCEMENTS
Mayor Knight advised that the fair had been rescheduled for May 25th. Joellen Artz said it is from 9:00 until 4:00pm. She said we have more vendors than last time and that there would be a parade route change. There will be a new ceremony at the beginning and end of the parade. We will be having two inflatables, duck pond and the counting horse. There will be people autographing books. It will be lots of fun. Channel two may be here and there will be music. The Caboose will be serving cake and ice cream to celebrate their 18th year.
Molly Lesnikowski announced that the Friday night music in the park starts May 24th at 7:00PM and will go thru Labor Day. There will be tables set up provided by the recreation department each Friday.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Brenda Thompson made motion to approve the minutes of the April 15, 2013 regular meeting as submitted. James Bratcher seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
BUSINESS LICENSE APPROVAL
Mayor Knight advised the council that a business license application had been submitted from Dale Sventeck for a company called Royalty Companies d/b/a Royalty Roofing. He said this is located at 145 Newborn Road where the old Airtight Building is. He stated it is allowed. James Bratcher asked if he was local. Mayor Knight answered no, he is from Indiana. Chad Cook made motion to approve the business license application from Royalty Roofing. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
TENNIS COURT QUOTES
Mayor Knight stated that the city had received two quotes on the tennis court project from A & B Contractor for $55,479.00 and Sims Paving for $64,876.00. Chad Cook made motion to accept the bid from A & B Contractors for $55,479.00. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
DCA PLAN IMPLEMENTATION MEETING
City Clerk Debbie Kilgore advised the council that DCA requires attendance from at least one elected official from each jurisdiction. Mayor Knight advised that the meeting will be held in Madison at the county administration building. The date is May 30th at 7:00pm. He asked who would like to attend. No one spoke up so he said he would go to represent Rutledge.
DATE FOR BUDGET WORK SESSION
Debbie Kilgore advised the council that a work session needed to be scheduled to go over budget needs and wants and also invited the public. It was decided that the work session be scheduled for Tuesday, June 11, 2013 at 6:00pm.
James Bratcher made motion to adjourn at 7:25. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
