CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Spencer Knight called to order the budget hearing on the above date.  Council members Brenda Thompson, Bill Spann and James Bratcher were present as were members of the public.  Council member Tom Strott was absent.

BUDGET DISCUSSION

City clerk Debbie Rutherford went over the changes on the budget since the last meeting. She advised that the bottom line numbers had not changed since the last hearing.  There were no questions.

PUBLIC COMMENT

Mayor Knight asked for public comment.  Kris Bray was present and expressed the need for additional parking for the city.  She said that if cars get towed there will be less people in town.  She asked if there was money budgeted for the parking lot.  Debbie Rutherford stated that there was money budgeted in capital outlay.  Mayor Knight stated that there were lots of variables.  James Bratcher said I think that Mr. Merritt needs to sit down with the other lawyer.

BUDGET ADOPTION

Brenda Thompson made motion to adopt the fiscal year 2009/2010 general fund budget as submitted.  Bill Spann seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.  Brenda Thompson made motion to adopt the fiscal year 2009/2010 water/sewer fund budget as submitted.  James Bratcher seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
