CALL TO ORDER
Mayor Bruce Altznauer called to order the regular meeting of the Rutledge City Council on the above date. Council members Tony Sells and Brenda Thompson were present. Council member Brandie Owens was absent.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Mayor Altznauer called for and led the Pledge of Allegiance.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES
Brenda Thompson made motion to approve the minutes of the June 16, 2020 meeting as submitted. Tony Sells seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried. Tony Sells made motion to approve the minutes of the July 09, 2020 Public Hearing as submitted. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
GEFA LOAN MODIFICATION (DEFERRAL PERIOD)
Debbie Kilgore advised the Council that GEFA is doing a loan deferral program for six months with everyone that has a loan with them. The loan modification began on July 1st and we either have to opt in or opt out. The City will not have to make loan payments from July to December and GEFA will add six months to the end of the loan. This program was implemented because of COVID.
APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING CHIEF ELECTED OFFICIAL TO EXECUTE MODIFICATION DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE LOAN
Brenda Thompson made motion to approve the resolution to authorize Mayor Altznauer to execute all modification documents related to the loan. Tony Sells seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
COVID19 GRANT INFORMATION FOLLOW UP
Mayor Altznauer informed the Council that the time period to apply for the grant had expired.
COMMUNITY DEPOT EVENTS AND INFORMATION
Mayor Altznauer advised the Community Depot was cranking up again. He said they are having the open-air market on Wednesday’s and it has been successful. It is from 9-11 and they were selling peanuts, flowers, vegetables and lemonade. Jennifer Buzbee has put out a calendar and is doing a good job.
SPEEDING COMPLAINTS – WEST MAIN
Debbie Kilgore advised she received a speeding complaint from a citizen on West Main. I should have instructed them to call the sheriff’s office directly. They asked if we would put up a children at play sign and we have already taken care of installing the sign. We can also ask that the flashing speed sign be placed on West Main. There has also been lots of complaints about kids riding ATV’S and dirt bikes on West Main with no helmets and going extremely fast. Mayor Altznauer instructed the City Clerk to call the Sherriff’s Office and ask for the sign to be put on West Main Street.
Tony Sells made motion to adjourn the meeting at 7:20 pm. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
