CALL TO ORDER

Mayor Knight called to order the regular meeting of the Rutledge City Council on the above date. Council members Brenda Thompson, Anthony Sells, Tim Smith and Bruce Altznauer were present as were members of the public.

PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE

Mayor Knight called for and led the Pledge of Allegiance.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES

Tim Smith made motion to approve the minutes of the October 17, 2017 meeting as submitted. Brenda Thompson seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

APPROVAL OF RESOLUTION TO ACCEPT STREETS – FALLS SUBDIVISION

Mayor Knight advised the council that Chuck Jarrell had inspected the streets in the Falls Subdivision and said that everything looked good. Brenda Thompson made motion to approve the Resolution to Authorize Acceptance Of Certain Road Improvements As Public Road Right Of Way And For Other Uses. Tony Sells seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.

SPLOST MEETING INFORMATION

Councilman Bruce Altznauer gave an update on the SPLOST meeting he and the City Clerk attended. The new SPLOST will go on the ballot in May 2018. If it passes Rutledge would receive 2%. He advised the council that the list for SPLOST needed to be ready by January 5,2018. The current SPLOST expires in March 2019.

ELECTION RESULTS

Mayor Knight advised that the official complete election results were in for the November 7, 2017 election. The Rutledge results are for mayor Bruce Altznauer, Brandy Owens for council post #3 and Tim Smith for council post # 3.

OLD / UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Mayor Knight read a report submitted by Molly Lesnikowski about the activities in Rutledge as follows: tour of homes November 30th thru December 2nd and the Christmas Festival December 1st and 2nd. The Holiday Open House will be December 18th and the Caboose will be hosting a community breakfast on December 21st at no charge except for bringing a canned good. Mayor Knight gave a thank you to Beautification for removing the stumps on Newborn Road.

Some members were present from Macedonia Church and asking about the street signs that were previously discussed. City Clerk Debbie Kilgore advised that the signs had just come in and would be put up as soon as possible. Mayor Knight also advised the members that the traffic engineer had been contacted in regards to doing a speed hump study.

Brenda Thompson made motion to adjourn at 7:20. Tony Sells seconded, all voted in favor and motion carried.
