The City of Rutledge will strive to be a safe, walkable, well-kept community. Our priorities are to:

1. Provide clean (odorless, colorless, tasteless), safe drinking water for our residents.
2. Uphold our ordinances.
3. Maintain our oxidation pond in compliance with EPD regulations.
4. Conduct city government and finances in an open and honest manner.
5. Scrutinize all costs in the general and water budgets. Keep necessary expenses as low as possible and eliminate unnecessary expenses.
6. Keep the city grounds attractive at all times.
7. Assist the merchants where possible within the constraints of the budget for a vital, prosperous downtown area.
8. Provide recreation facilities where possible given constraints of the budget.
9. Foster a sense of community.
10. Be kind and neighborly to one another.
